As per our typical Sunday drill, the family and I set out for lunch with our beautiful beagle.
Since we did not want to head out far, it was decided that the best choice was to stay local. With that being said, we grabbed a quick bite to eat at The Steam Room, Downport.
Every time we hang out at this spot, we feel at home. It’s a casual setting offering options of land and sea that comes to life when the nice weather comes around.
There is an indoor/outdoor seating area in the back that is canine-friendly and also visually pleasing. Sitting in the heart of Port Jefferson is one of the many perks of dining at The Steam Room, along with a soothing view of the harbor.
You can expect to see several people accompanied by their well-mannered dogs, the perfect opportunity for your pup to mingle on your way to your seat.
Since it is a self-seating establishment, you can easily accommodate where you and your furry companion would feel most comfortable. Their service window makes ordering a breeze, and almost always results in fast completion.
The majority of my family enjoyed seafood salads and sandwiches, while I happily munched on a basket of chicken tenders and a few of my brother’s french fries. April devoured her treat from Roger’s Friget (next-door), as well as a cold bowl of water that the owner so kindly placed in front of her.
