Long island dog owners, are you in search of a pooch-friendly restaurant?
Look no further than my ultimate dog series: The Regal Beagle
If you find yourself reading this, I hope you’ll find these posts to be helpful to you in your search of unique and welcoming places to go with your beloved canine friend.
I’ve found it to be a struggle to rely solely on the vague stamp of approval (claiming that dogs are allowed) under a yelp description, so I’ve decided to visit and document the best that I come across for you all.
North Fork Roasting Company
Coffee so fresh you should smack it. -@noforoastingco
Exactly a week ago I was watching News12 when the tour of a cozy café came on screen. I saw croissants, variations of coffee and I was instantly sold. It turned out the 2-year old popular hangout spot recently made brunch an addition to their services. The camera turned, I saw an adorable chocolate lab hanging out on a family sized sofa and the next thing I knew I was immediately searching up North Fork Roasting Company‘s instagram page (See: @noforoastingco).
My sister Bonnie, April and I.
Upon arrival, I found the small size to be super charming. There were 2 rooms of which you could choose from a variety of comfortable couches and sofa-chairs paired with thoughtfully decorated coffee tables. We were instantly greeted at the door by employees and the famous Sinatra. It was great to see that him and April got along well and actually enjoyed each other! It’s clear to see that the (#NoFoRoastingCo) runs their business in a refreshingly family-oriented fashion, one that is rare to come by these days.
I have to say that I am not only pleasantly surprised with the ambiance, but also the famous Matcha Latté critics of Manhattan are raving about. The quality of the frothy green drink was comparable to that of Chelsea Market’s Chailait. The food was another plus, being that they served fresh spins on classics. Avocado lovers, pay attention: B.L.T.A.= Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato and AVOCADO! Instead of mayo, they have their own yummy combination sauce which compliments the sandwich so well. My sister tried their Acai bowl and she gave it a double-thumbs-up, she’s a fan.
I am rarely able to get my feisty beagle to calm down when we are at a public restaurant…She’s either fidgeting in my arms, trying to eat the food off of my plate, or whining out of boredom. The comforting rustic vibe seemed to trick my pup into thinking we were at a family member’s home. Phew! When you are at North Fork Roasting Company, you can expect yourself to be amongst a community of dog owners, enthusiasts and admirers alike. Not only were the employees warm and welcoming, but the fellow customers were also so kind and I truly felt that I was in good company.
Do yourselves a favor and put this visit on your bucket list!
